Workshop Open Call

Calling all teaching artists with a passion for sharing their wisdom with other arts educators! Bartol is looking for teaching artists to facilitate workshops for THE LAB, our annual professional development series. Starting compensation for facilitators is $550 for a 90-120 minute workshop.

We are currently interested in the following workshop topics:

Work Samples: Career Documentation for the Teaching Artist
Equitable Pay Systems in Teaching Artistry

Please note that we are not currently accepting applications for workshop topics not included in the list above and that the audience for these workshops is other teaching artists (not art students!). You can learn more about Bartol and workshop parameters here.

Workshop Topic

Workshop Description (300 words): Please be sure to address the following questions in your workshop description: What topics and activities can participants expect to complete during the workshop? What will participants have learned by the time they have left the workshop? Marketing will use this description to help us promote your workshop.

Lesson Plan: Please share a draft of your lesson plan detailing how you plan to use the time (e.g. 10 minutes for introductions, 5 minutes to journal, 10 minute discussion, etc. ). This is for internal use.

Is there a population that this workshop is best suited for? (e.g. early career teaching artists, K-5 education, artists working with adults, artists primarily serving in-school.) If not, that’s okay! We welcome workshops inclusive to all teaching artists.)

Equity, Inclusivity, & Anti-Racism (500 words): What actions do you plan on taking to create the conditions necessary to support an equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist workshop environment? Are there any specific accessibility accommodations you plan to provide? What formal training or informal self-education have you pursued on equity, inclusivity, and anti-racism in the classroom? How is this workshop inclusive of teaching artists of all abilities and skill levels?
