Get Your Foot in the Door: Becoming a Teaching Artist in Public and Private Schools

This workshop will provide teaching artists with a roadmap to begin teaching in schools and other public institutions. blew will share how to get your feet in the door through connections in Philadelphia, building personal artist platforms, and creating attractive lesson plans to offer for the public and private sector. Participants will leave with clarity around certificates needed, a template of their lesson plans, and expectations when entering in classrooms.

blew kind is a Bartol Certified trauma-informed teaching artist hired as a contractor teaching in schools and other institutions for 17 years. Her past and current clients include Philadelphia Public Schools, Artwell, Miquon, The Urban League of Philadelphia, Free Library of Philadelphia, Culturebanq, d’griot café + gallery. She coaches artists and entrepreneurs to live into their future story.
