Diary comics offer students a visual medium for expressing themselves through drawing. In this workshop, teaching artists will learn how to create a four-panel comic, explore dynamic composition techniques, and experiment with illustrating personal narratives in their own unique style—all skills that they can bring back into their own classroom. No previous drawing experience is required.
Cindy Lozito is a muralist, illustrator, and cartoonist whose work explores identity formation, the power of imagination and play from childhood into adulthood, processing familial loss through story preservation, and creating spaces that make our surroundings more joyful and colorful. She has taught workshops at Garces Foundation, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, University of the Arts, and Fleisher Art Memorial.
