Landscapes of re-membering: a writing workshop on presence, touch, and time

Facilitated by: I-Chia Chiu 邱奕嘉

Thursday June 11, 6:30-9 pm

In Person - Studio 34

Inspired by the writings of poets and educators, this session is part of a series that envisions imaginative pathways to reflect on the memories in our teaching practices. We wander into our senses, see how outer landscapes touch us, and re-imagine ways of seeing.

I-Chia Chiu writes and facilitates from the land of Taiwan. Nourished by the practice of playwriting, devised theatre and Drama-based Pedagogy (MFA in Playwriting, University of Texas at Austin), Chiu writes to invite playful and meditative reflections on difficult conversations, experiences of survival, languages, nature. She is a certified facilitator and affiliate member of Amherst Writers and Artist community. She explores embodied practices and re-imagines ways to guard over people's solitude in creative space. In this space, she as the facilitator is not a teacher. She will join writing and share the risk of writing.
